The decedent is a 42-year-old white male who was awaiting transfer to Riverside County Sheriff’s custody. The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

On March 3, 2023, 33-year-old Ryan Barnette from Garden Grove, CA who was housed at the Intake Release Center in Holding Cell PM9 died at OC Global Medical Center. At the time, Barnette was awaiting arraignment. At the conclusion of the Orange County District Attorney’s independent investigation, Barnette’s manner of death was determined to be accidental, and his cause of death was identified as acute fentanyl intoxication.
