In-Custody Death - January 12, 2025

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, an Orange County Jail inmate housed in the Correctional Medical Services wing of a local hospital died while inside custody. The decedent, 42-year-old James Rudolph Jones of Cerritos, was a White male in-custody for a probation violation.  The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

In-Custody Death - January 17, 2025

On Friday, January 17, 2025, an Orange County Jail inmate housed at the Theo Lacy Facility in G-Barracks died at UCI Medical Center, Orange. The decedent, Scott Theodore Remick, was a 51-year-old white male from Anaheim who was awaiting trial. The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

In-Custody Death - February 1, 2025

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, an Orange County Jail inmate housed at the Intake Release Center in Module J died while inside custody. The decedent, 44-year-old Christopher Joseph Donnelly of Anaheim, was a white male in-custody for a probation violation. The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

In-Custody Death - February 9, 2025

On Sunday, February 9, 2025, an Orange County Jail inmate housed in the Correctional Medical Services wing of a local hospital died while inside custody. The decedent, a 72-year-old Asian male was in-custody for CPC 664/187 – Attempted murder, CPC 451(a) – Arson causing great bodily injury, CPC 451(b) – Arson to inhabited structure/dwelling, and CPC 451(a)(1) – Aggravated arson with a prior. The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

In-Custody Death - February 21, 2025

On Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, an inmate who was housed at the Intake Release Center in Santa Ana died at OC Global Medical Center in Santa Ana. The inmate, Juan Vasquez Pulido, 38, no known residence, was booked into jail on Feb. 5, 2025, by the Anaheim Police Department for drug related offenses. The same day, Pulido was the victim of an assault by another inmate while on the booking loop of the Intake Release Center. On Feb. 21, Pulido died while at the hospital. The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

In-Custody Death - March 31, 2025

On Monday, Mar. 31, 2025, an inmate who was housed at the Intake Release Center in Santa Ana died while in custody. The decedent, a 55-year-old male, was in custody without bail for PC 192(c)(1) – Vehicle Manslaughter with Gross Negligence, PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon, VC 20001(a) – Hit and Run with Injury. The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, an inmate who was housed at the Intake Release Center in Santa Ana died while in custody. The decedent, Luis Carlos Olivas JR a 42-year-old Hispanic male, was in custody for PC 3056 – Parole Violation. The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

On Monday, June 24, 2024, an Orange County Jail inmate housed at the Theo Lacy Facility in Module O died at UCI Medical Center, Orange. The decedent is a 51-year-old Hispanic male who was awaiting trial. The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

In-Custody Death - July 30, 2024

On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, an Orange County Jail inmate housed at the Intake Release Center, and was completing the booking process, died at Orange County Global Medical Center, Santa Ana.  The decedent is a 42-year-old white male who was awaiting transfer to Riverside County Sheriff’s custody.  The decedent's manner and means of death are awaiting final determination by the Orange County Coroner.

In-Custody Death – March 3, 2023

On March 3, 2023, 33-year-old Ryan Barnette from Garden Grove, CA who was housed at the Intake Release Center in Holding Cell PM9 died at OC Global Medical Center. At the time, Barnette was awaiting arraignment.
