Orange County Sheriff's SUV stops fleeing vehicle

On Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at about 9:12 am, Lake Forest Police Services personnel were dispatched to the Walgreen’s on Muirlands Blvd reference a possible robbery in progress. Units arrived on the scene as the suspects fled the store and drove away in a white Nissan Rogue with no license plates.$0$0$0Deputies pursued the vehicle through the city as the suspects drove toward the 5 freeway and El Toro Rd. The suspect's vehicle turned onto northbound Bridger where the driver attempted to reverse course. As Deputies approached the suspect vehicle, two of the suspects fled the car and ran toward the area of Gowdy and Cavanaugh. The suspect's vehicle was struck by a patrol car, preventing the driver of the car from escaping on foot. That suspect was taken into custody and found to have a loaded firearm on his person. $0$0Simultaneously two separate foot pursuits were taking place while the suspect in the vehicle was taken into custody. One suspect was apprehended in Cavanaugh Park by responding units. The third suspect fled through the residential neighborhood but was caught a short time later running across El Toro Rd., near Rockfield Blvd. All three have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and will be booked into Orange County Jail. No Deputies, nor suspects were injured as a result of this call.
